Palihakkara v British Telecommunications Plc - Defective compromise agreement [2006] EAT
Ms Palihakkara signed a compromise agreement shortly before taking voluntary redundancy from her employment with BT. Allowing her appeal against a tribunal ruling, the EAT held that the compromise agreement covered unfair dismissal and redundancy payment claims but was not valid to cover "claims of race and sex discrimination, consisting of bullying and harassment and victimisation..." .
