Pierre-Davis v North West London Hospitals NHS Trust - time limit for appeal to EAT strictly applied
An example of a case in which the EAT refused to exercise its discretion to extend the 42 day limit for lodging an appeal against a ruling of an employment tribunal.
At a tribunal in September 2008 Mrs Pierre-Davis lost claims of disability discrimination and unfair dismissal against North West London Hospitals NHS Trust, She appealed but sent her Notice of Appeal to the Employment Tribunal not to the EAT. By the time she realised her mistake it was too late to correct it.
