R (on the application of Boots Management Services Ltd) v Central Arbitration Committee and others [2014] EWHC 2930
Trade Union is barred from proceeding with recognition application
R (on the application of Boots) v CAC concerns the application for recognition of the Pharmacists' Defence Association Union ("the PDAU") for the purposes of collective bargaining by Boots Management Services Ltd ("Boots"). Boots already had in place a ‘sweetheart union’, the BPA, which was recognised for only very limited purposes.
In an earlier hearing, the Central Arbitration Committee ("the CAC") decided that the application of the PDAU to be recognised for the purposes of ‘collective bargaining’ on behalf of the pharmacists employed by Boots was admissible.
