Key Points

  • The Ionising Radiations Regulations 1999, SI 1999/3232 were made on 3rd December 1999 and came into force on 1st January 2000 (save for reg 5 which came into force on 13th May 2000).
  • The Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2000, SI 2000/1059 were made on 13th April 2000 and mainly came into force on 13th May 2000. Regs 4(1) and 4(2) which directly affect employers (as defined) came into force on 1st January 2001.
