Royal Mail Group Plc v Jan - Religious discrimination [2007] EAT

Mr Jan, a Pakistani Muslim, brought claims of race/religious and disability discrimination against the Royal Mail Group. He underwent heart surgery in 2005 and took a prolonged period of sick leave. Medical evidence indicated that he would not be fit to return before reaching retirement age and Royal Mail therefore took the decision to retire him on ill-health grounds.
