Sage (UK) Ltd v Bacco - Practice direction on legal authorities [2007] EAT

This was a claim for unfair dismissal in which the tribunal originally found in Mr Bacco's favour. When allowing the employer's subsequent appeal the EAT issued a practice statement which is a salutary reminder to all when putting together a bundle of authorities for an EAT hearing!

HHJ Peter Clark made clear that where cases have been reported in the ICR or IRLR law reports then copies of those actual reports should be in the bundle, not simply transcripts of the judgments - the primary reason being that the EAT can then refer to the headnote.
