Shergold v Fieldway Medical Centre [2005] EAT

Since October 2004 it has not been possible for an employee to make a tribunal claim against his employer unless he or she has first attempted to settle the dispute. The law requires him or her to initiate a "grievance procedure". This case establishes that no formality is required, save that the employee must set out his or her grievance in writing.
