South Kent College v Hall - Compliance with statutory grievance procedure [2007] EAT

A lecturer, Mr. Hall, resigned from his job during disciplinary proceedings, but did not invoke a grievance procedure before doing so. He subsequently lodged an unfair dismissal claim at a tribunal, and won. The employment tribunal rejected arguments by the employer, South Kent College, that it should not have heard the case because Mr. Hall had failed to comply with the statutory grievance procedure.
