Mr Stages worked for a firm of solicitors until his eventual sickness absence and resignation. He suffered from a mixed personality disorder and was a disabled person under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. He claimed constructive unfair dismissal and disability discrimination. An employment tribunal rejected his claim. Mr Stages appealed.
