Sumsion v BBC (Scotland) - Working Time Regulations [2007] EAT
Mr Sumsion worked as a standby carpenter for the BBC on production of a programme called "Sea of Souls" at £1,200 per week. His 5 month contract provided that his services would be required for up to 6 days each week and that he was entitled to 6 days leave to be taken on specified days. His claim, along with that of others, that the BBC had no right to require them to take their leave on particular days was dismissed by an employment tribunal in Glasgow.
