Sunley v HMP Durham - strike out order for want of prosecution overruled
Mrs Sunley was employed as a Prison Officer at HMP Durham. She complained of unlawful sex discrimination. She said that when she had refused to work an extra shift, she was threatened with disciplinary action and was removed from self-rostering but her named male comparator was not; and that she was subjected to direct sex discrimination and victimisation when a Senior Officer and the Governor failed to support her in her bid for promotion.
