Thompson v British Gas Services Ltd - Tribunal's failure to give adequate reasons for a decision [2006] EAT

A trainee gas engineer made complaints of disability discrimination and unfair dismissal.  He lost but considered that there had been inadequacy on the part of the Tribunal to address its obligation to give reasons for its decision.

A request for the EAT to order the Tribunal to provide further reasons was refused on 5th April 2006 so the matter went to appeal. The EAT agreed with the employee and remitted the claims to a freshly constituted tribunal.
