University of Westminster v Bailey [2009] EAT
Employment judge wrongly exercised his discretion to extend time for lodging a sex discrimination claim.
Dr Bailey OBE was a senior lecturer at the University of Westminster. He was given a grading which he considered to be discriminatory on the ground of his sex given that a female employee of the University had been graded differently. He brought a sex discrimination claim against the university but this was some 19 months after the time limit for making such a claim.
