Walker v North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Trust - H&S representative is entitled to such time off as is necessary to attend such training as is reasonable EAT
Mr Walker was a trade union Health & Safety Representative. By agreement his employers allowed him 2 1/2 days per week for his H&S duties. At times he asked for more - sometimes his manager agreed, sometimes not. When he sought two lengthy additional periods of absence to attend H&S training courses his manager advised him that he could not make such a decision.
