Wanbeck District Council v Fisher - Failure to understand case made tribunal's decision perverse in law [2009] EAT

Community Services Manager Mr Fisher was accused of bullying a Mrs Nevens, Project manager at a Healthy Living Centre. The accusations revolved around his management of an improper procurement, by her, of an evaluation by a consultant; his general efforts to restructure the Centre which would entail Mrs Nevens losing her job; and a number of accusations he made against her. Wanbeck conducted an investigatory meeting followed by a disciplinary hearing where Mr Fisher faced four charges. He was dismissed for gross misconduct.
