Westmoreland v Renault UK Ltd - extension of time for lodging appeal refused in a case devoid of merit.

An example of a case in which the EAT refused an extension of time for lodging an appeal, noting that anyway the proposed appeal was devoid of merit.

An employment tribunal rejected a claim for breach of contract brought by Mr Westmoreland against Renault UK Ltd.  Mr Westmorland filed an appeal with the EAT but this was rejected by the Registrar on the basis that not all the required documents were included and therefore that it was out of time (42 days are allowed for an appeal). Mr Westmorland appealed against the decision of the Registrar.
