Williams v The University of Nottingham - Disability discrimination, foreign element and jurisdiction of English tribunal [2007] EAT

The EAT has confirmed that the rules about when a British tribunal has jurisdiction in a case with a foreign element are the same for claims under the Disability Discrimination Act as they are for unfair dismissal. The Nottingham employment tribunal had ruled that it had no jurisdiction to consider unfair dismissal and disability claims by Dr Williams. His appeal has been dismissed by the EAT.
