Wright v Woverhampton City Council - Just and equitable to extend time where claimant relied on "unreliable advice" [2008] EAT

Mrs Wright brought claims of race and sex discrimination against Wolverhampton. The time limits had expired on 12 January 2007 and 12 February 2007 respectively. having received "unreliable advice" from her trade union solicitor, Mrs Wright submitted her claim on 23 April. She heard nothing from the tribunal. On further advice she did not chase the matter up until 8 June 2007, when she learnt that the tribunal had received nothing. She faxed in her claim that same day.
