Wynne & Others (t/a Deja Vu) v Dey - Exclusion of witness from hearing was not bias on part of judge [2009] EAT

Deja Vu was a nightclub run by the Wynnes. Mr Dey worked various hours there, and was paid in cash each Sunday. He was frequently left in charge. Unfortunately, after a fire he learnt that the insurance would not pay his wages while there was nowhere to work: after relations deteriorated when the club reopened he left. An employment tribunal held that the Wynnes had failed to pay Mr Dey his wages and failed to provide a statements of terms and conditions of employment.
