Soldiers win human rights protection as Commission intervenes in landmark case

In April 2009 the High Court (Collins J.) recognised that a duty of care cannot be expected in combat and ruled that sending troops into combat with defective equipment might constitute a breach of ECHR Art 2 (right to life).
