Beresford & Smith v The Solicitors Regulation Authority & the Law Society - Struck off solicitors' appeal is dismissed
Struck off solicitors' appeal is dismissed.
In December 2008 Mr Beresford and Mr Smith were struck off the Roll of Solicitors (and ordered to pay the costs of the Solicitors' Disciplinary Tribunal). This followed a 9 day hearing by the Solicitors Regulation Authority into their conduct in relation to their handling of compensation claims by sick coalminers, notably in connection with the huge fees they obtained.
