USA - Carvin v Britain - Parental rights of lesbian - Supreme Court (Washington) 15.5.06

In this USA case Ms Carvin and Ms Britain are fighting over "parental rights" of a child, now aged 11, borne to one of them via AID. The couple later split up and the mother married the sperm donor. The other woman claims she was the "active parent". There is no final outcome yet but the US Supreme Court has upheld the November 2005 decision of the Washington Court to allow the case to go to trial
