Darwish v Egyptair Ltd. - QBD 16.6.06

This was a personal injury claim in the High Court, based on assault as opposed to battery. An employee born in Egypt in 1980, worked for Egyptair in Cairo and then got a job in their London office. In 2004 he settled unfair or wrongful dismissal and disability discrimination claims for £7,500. He later brought the present claim based on alleged assault by the General Manager of the London office ie assault in the legal sense of giving him ground to apprehend that he would be subjected to immediate, unlawful force upon his person. He has lost.
