Majrowski v. Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Trust - House of Lords 12.7.06

The House of Lords has dismissed an appeal by Guys and St Thomas' Hospital against the Court of Appeal judgment in this case. The House of Lords has confirmed that if an act of harassment is committed by an employee in the course of his or her employment in breach of Protection from Harassment Act 1997 s.1 then the employer can be vicariously liable to pay the victim damages for anxiety caused by the harassment and any resulting financial loss resulting from the harassment (under Protection from Harassment Act 1997 s.3).
