Greenhalgh v United Kingdom - sex discrimination - ECtHR 5.9.06

Mr Greenhalgh had complained under the European Human Rights Convention arts 8 and 14 that because he was a man he was denied social security benefits equivalent to those received by female widows. Following the House of Lords decision in R v CIR ex p Wilkinson, [2005] UKHL 30 in March 2006 the British Government settled his claim by paying him £3,888.59.
