Keeley v Fosroc International Ltd - staff handbook terms incorporated into employment contract - Court of Appeal 5.10.06
Mr Keeley claimed that he was entitled to an enhanced redundancy payment when he was made redundant by Fosroc. He claimed that the Staff Handbook provided for his redundancy pay to be calculated by multiplying his weekly salary at the date of redundancy by double the number of redundancy weeks provided by statute and that there should also be pay in lieu of notice on a gross basis. The High Court held that the relevant provisions of the Staff Handbook were not incorporated into his employment contract, so he was not entitled to enhanced redundancy pay. Mr Keeley appealed.
