Scope v Thornett - compensation for loss of future earnings - [2006] EWCA Civ 1600 on 27.11.06
The Court of Appeal has confirmed that when deciding the amount of compensation to be awarded for future loss of earnings it is proper, and may be essential, for a tribunal to indulge in some speculation. The Court of Appeal ruled that the EAT had been wrong to suggest otherwise and remitted the case back for the employment tribunal to reassess compensatory award.
