Latif v Project Management Institute - qualifications body and discrimination - Reading Employment Tribunal 19.10.06

The Project Management Institute confers the "Project Management Professional" Qualification. In the first case of its kind to come before a tribunal, it has been held that it failed to make reasonable adjustments to its examination arrangements to accommodate a blind woman. In fact she passed the exam and the Institute had gone to some lengths to help the woman concerned to prepare for the exam. The Reading Tribunal awarded her £3,000 in respect of injury to feelings but dismissed other disability discrimination claims which she made.
