Chambers v United Kingdom - strike out of unsettled claims by homosexuals dismissed from armed forces - ECHR 11.12.07

This was another claim in the ECtHR by a homosexual dismissed from the Army (the background is explained in the report on Blakemore & 41 others v United Kingdom elsewhere in this web-updater). In this case the UK government issued a "declaration of regret" - it acknowledged that its investigation and dismissal of Ms Chambers breached Articles 8 & 13 of the European Convention on Human Rights (interference with private life and lack of a domestic remedy).
