Nesbitt v Holt (of the Citizens Advice Bureau) - CAB's authority to enter compromise agreement - Court of Appeal 26.3.07

Mr Nesbitt suffered a head injury while working for Dunlop. He claimed that contrary to the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 Dunlop failed to make reasonable adjustments to accommodate him to take account of his resultant disability. The local (Gateshead) CAB took on the case and Mr Nesbitt was represented by Mr Holt of the CAB. The claim was settled and the appropriate COT3 form signed by Mr Holt on behalf of Mr Nesbitt. Mr Nesbitt denied that he had given authority to Mr Holt to settle but he did take the settlement money (9,000 pounds).
