London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority, R (on the application of) v The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government - firefighters and dismissal - High Court (Administrative) 18.5.07

Paul Williams and Andrew Slater were firefighters dismissed, essentially for serious moonlighting. As well as working for the Authority they were found to be shareholders and directors of a fire safety consultancy and charges of disobedience and corruption followed. They appealed to the Secretary of State who allowed the appeals, ordering that they be reinstated and specifying lesser sanctions.
