Ogoh v General Social Care Council - England and Wales Care Standards Tribunal 11.6.07

The General Social Care Council refused to register Ms Ogoh as a social worker under Care Standards Act 2000 s.58. She had a diploma in social work from the University of Benin, Nigeria, a degree in law and had qualified for the Nigerian Bar. The reason for the refusal was essentially that her training and experience was insufficient. However she was notified that "if you successfully complete qualifying training social work training in the UK, it would be possible for you to apply for registration on the basis that you had completed required training ...".
