Connect v Vodafone Limited - union recognition - CAC 27.6.07

The CAC approved an application by Connect (the Union) that it should be recognised for collective bargaining by Vodafone for a bargaining unit restricted to certain grades of employee working in its Regional Operations (North) organisation. Vodafone had previously resisted the Union’s suggestion on the basis that the smallest bargaining unit compatible with effective management would be its complete Regional Operations Unit. However, the CAC confirmed the Union’s proposal to be appropriate.
