Unite & ors. v UCL - extent of recognition for collective bargaining purposes - CAC 6.8.07

The trade union Unite sought information from UCL about its redundancy payment schemes, under sec 181 TULR(C)A 1992. UCL refused, arguing that Unite was not recognised for collective bargaining purposes about such matters. No formal recognition document existed, but the common understanding and practice was that UCL recognised Unite for collective bargaining purposes in respect of "terms and conditions of employment".
