Communication Workers Union v Cable & Wireless - test for recognition is merely that a proposed bargaining unit is "compatible with effective management" - CAC 7.9.07

The CWU applied for recognition of a bargaining unit comprised of "employees in UK Field Services (except Managers)". C&W resisted this, suggesting a unit comprising, essentially, of "all employees". It argued that it had a "one company culture and ethos" and the union's approach would cause fragmentation.
