Akzo Nobel Chemicals & Akcros Chemicals v Commission - no legal professional privilege for in-house lawyers - ECJ Cases T'125/03 and T'253/03, 17.9.07

The EU Commission and the Office of Fair Trading were investigating Akzo for possible anti-competitive practices. An issue arose over the disclosure of correspondence with Akzo's in-house lawyers. Akzo claimed that these were subject to legal professional privilege (LPP), and could therefore be witheld.
