Arkwell v United Kingdom - no discrimination over widows' pensions - ECtHR 25.9.07

Mr Arkwell challenged the UK government's refusal to pay him "widow's pension". He argued that his rights under Articles 8 & 14 of the European Convention on Human Rights ("ECHR") were violated because, as a man, he was being denied social benefits received by widows. The European Court of Human Rights rejected his application.
