Callinan v Secretary of State for Health - time limits for appeal against inclusion on PoVA and PoCA lists - Care Standards Tribunal 6.8.07

Ms Callinan appealed against her inclusion on the Protection of Vulnerable Adults (PoVA) and Protection of Children Act (PoCA) lists. She claimed that she had never received letters sent in March 2006 advising her that she was being placed on the lists and of her appeal rights, because they were all sent to the wrong address. She learnt of her inclusion via a Criminal Records Bureau check in November 2006, was told by the CRB she should appeal to the Care Standards Tribunal, and eventually did so on 1st March 2007.
