Rhodes-Hampton v Worthing & Southlands Hospital NHS Trust - anaesthetist's negligence caused injuries to mid-wife - Court of Appeal 20.11.07

Mrs Rhodes-Hampton, a midwife at Worthing Hospital, sued for damages for injuries she sustained trying to prevent a distressed and violent patient from falling off a bed. At the time the patient was recovering from anaesthetic and was very confused. The High Court found that the Trust had not breached its duty of care and that, in any event, the accident could not have been avoided.
