R (on application of Cable & Wireless Services UK Ltd v (1) Central Arbitration Committee (2) Communication Workers Union - CAC's role re union recognition is to determine whether a proposed unit is compatible with effective management - QBD 4.2.08

The CAC decided that a bargaining unit of "employees in UK Field Services" should be recognised (see its decision of 7 September 2007. This was despite C&W pressing for a unit of "all employees" because it was worried about fragmentation of its "one-company ethos". C&W appealed to the QBD.
