Guernina v Thames Valley University - no error in finding dismissal was fair - Court of Appeal 5.2.08
Ms Guernina was a full time lecturer with the University, but also had a second job as a clinical psychologist with the NHS. She had not made clear to the University the level of contractual commitment she had to the NHS and did not, as required by her contract, have its written approval. When the situation came to light she refused to resign her NHS position, so the University dismissed her.
