Sladdin v Secretary of State - unsuitability to work with children can of itself establish unsuitability to work with vulnerable adults - Care Standards Tribunal - 9.2.08

Following conviction for sexual offences involving children, Mr Sladdin was placed on both the PoCA and PoVA lists. He appealed - particulalrly against the POVA list inclusion.

The Care Standards Tribunal struck out his appeal. The findings of fact implicit in his convictions demonstrated misconduct which had harmed a child. These were serious offences, recently committed. Mr Sladdin's previous unblemished record was irrelevant: he was clearly unsuitable to work with children.
