Michael Durant Refused Landmark Appeal by The House of Lords - end Nov 2005

Mr Durant submitted a subject access request under the Data Protection Act 1998 to the Financial Services Authority . The request was rejected (in October 2002) on the grounds that the information was not "personal data" held in a "relevant filing system". He lost an appeal and at end of November 2005 the House of Lords has refused his request for permission to appeal to them.
