Maharaj v Teaching Service Commission & anor. - Privy Council 6.7.06
This was a dispute concerning the relative seniority of two teachers in a training college in Trinidad. This was important because it governed which of them was entitled to promotion to vice-principal of the college. The Privy Council found that the fact that the junior of the two had been misled by the Teaching Service Commission into thinking he was the senior made no difference to the fact that in reality he was the junior and so was not entitled to the promotion.
