Union syndicale Solidaires Isère v French government - seasonal workers and working time rules
Workers on seasonal contracts who do not have regular periods of compensatory rest may be within permissible derogation from (articles 3,4, 5, 8 and 16 of) the Working Time Directive 2003/88/EC - but French law restricting such contracts to 80 days per annum provides insufficient protection to the workers' safety and health.
