Locke v Candy and Candy Ltd – pay in lieu of notice does not always include bonus entitlement

 If the payment of a bonus is expressly dependent upon the employee's being employed on the date when the bonus becomes due, and he is summarily dismissed before that date, the bonus is not payable as part of his pay in lieu of notice or otherwise.
