BT Pension Scheme Trustees Ltd v British Telecommunications Plc & Sec'y of State BIS - extent of Government liability under guarantee
The Government guarantee underpinning the BT Pension Scheme includes Scheme members who have joined since BT was privatised in 1984, but excludes Scheme members who have never been employed by BT and are, or were, employed by participating companies other than BT. The guarantee extends to the cost of buying annuities to pay all the relevant benefits.
