Jakubowska v Alessandro Maneggia – Member States may prohibit part-time public officials from practising as lawyers

There is no provision in European Union law that precludes domestic legislation preventing part-time public officials from practising as lawyers, provided that the legislation applies to all lawyers registered in that Member State and does not go beyond what is necessary to prevent conflicts of interest.
