Casteels v British Airways Plc - qualifying period for pension must include total time of employment in different countries

Respect for the principle of freedom of movement requires that, when assessing whether an employee has been a member of a pension scheme long enough to be entitled to benefits under it, calculation of that qualifying period must take account of the whole period of employment, even where that has been at different establishments in different EU states.
