Ansar v Lloyds TSB Bank Plc & ors - when should a tribunal chairman recuse himself
There were two separate EAT appeals in this matter on 8th March 2006 and on 14th July 2006. The EAT rejected an appeal brought by Mr Ansar on grounds that a tribunal Chairman, Mr Kolanko, ought to have recused himself from a Directions hearing because of outstanding complaints against him of apparent bias/alleged misconduct in respect of an earlier hearing (which was under appeal).
The Court of Appeal has now rejected Mr Ansar's futher appeal.
